"GET THE TABLES!" as the Dudley Boyz (Ray and Devon) famously shouted, those who made this stipulation famous.

Indeed, the primary elements of this match are the tables.

In a Tables Match, the match cannot be won by traditional pinfall or submission, nor is there a count-out or disqualification. The only way to win is by putting your opponent through a table (any type of table, including the announcer's table); the match is declared over when the table breaks under the weight of the defeated wrestler.

Typically, only offensive maneuvers are considered valid: for instance, if a wrestler accidentally puts themselves through a table, the match does not end, as it was not the opponent who caused the table to break. However, this rule can be controversial, as there have been instances where the wrestler who went through the table was declared defeated.

Naturally, since there is no disqualification, other weapons are also permitted in addition to the tables.

This stipulation can be contested in all match types. In team matches (tag team, handicap, etc.), usually, putting just one member of the opposing team through a table is sufficient to win; however, in some cases, all members of the team must be put through tables (elimination style).
