The championship was first established on May 17, 2007, and the inaugural champions were Brother Ray & Brother Devon.
This is a newer version of the NWA World Tag Team Championship, with its own distinct lineage.
The GFW Tag Team Championship was previously unified into this championship.
The current champions are the team of The System (Brian Myers and Bear Bronson), who won the title at TNA Rebellion 2026 on April 11, 2026, and have been reigning for 34 days.
