In this stipulation, a pole is mounted at one corner of the ring (next to the ring post), with a specific object placed on top. This object can be a prize (such as a contract), a weapon, or any other item relevant to the wrestlers involved or their storyline.

There are two main versions of the rules for this match, leading to different win conditions:

  • Version 1: The match is won by the wrestler who successfully climbs the pole and retrieves the object.

  • Version 2: In this variant (often used when the object is a weapon), retrieving the object does not end the match. Instead, it makes the object available for use by any wrestler involved. This version can conclude in two ways: either the first wrestler to use the retrieved object to strike their opponent wins, or the match ends by pinfall or submission.

This match does not allow for count-out. Regarding disqualification, it may be absent entirely in some cases or present with exceptions concerning the use of the object on the pole.

This stipulation can be contested in various match types (1 vs 1, tag team, triple threat, handicap), although it is most commonly fought in the 1 vs 1 format.
