St. Louis Wrestling Club was a Territory pro wrestling promotion operating in the United States, based in St. Louis, Missouri.
The SLWC promotion was founded on December 5, 1945 by Sam Muchnick, and it ceased operations on January 1, 1986.
A founding member of the NWA, Sam Muchnick Sports Attractions would be the home base for famous NWA promoter and power broker Sam Muchnick, a man often hailed as one of wrestling’s most honest businesspeople. Eventually renamed the St. Louis Wrestling Club, the territory didn’t hold so much of a permanent roster, as it did attract a variety of regional champions to make small runs. Wrestling at the Chase would make rounds as one of the premier wrestling TV programs in the country, and Muchnick would continue promoting until his retirement at the beginning of 1982, where his company would be bought up by Bob Geigel and a handful of other talent. The WWF would begin encroaching on St. Louis territory, assuming control of their former TV slot, and in a few years time the SLWC would be sold off to Jim Crockett Jr.
