Ohio Valley Wrestling is a Developmental pro wrestling promotion operating in the United States, based in Louisville, Kentucky, USA.
The OVW promotion was founded on February 12, 1996 by "Nightmare" Danny Davis.
OVW was initially affiliated with the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) until 2000, when it became the primary developmental territory for WWE (then WWF), and is noted for their famed class of 2002 which went on to produce John Cena, Randy Orton, Batista, and Brock Lesnar.
OVW served this role until February 2008, when it became unaffiliated. In November 2011, OVW began a developmental relationship with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA), which lasted until November 2013 but was re-established on March 19, 2019.
OVW's television programming is produced at the Davis Arena in Louisville. The weekly series, known as OVW TV, airs locally on WBNA-21 and is available for streaming on FITE TV and the promotion’s YouTube channel. As of 2020, OVW TV is accessible to over 100 million households in the U.S. and more than 700 million worldwide through various syndication and distribution deals.
