"You're fired!"

These are the words that any employee dreads hearing from their boss more than any others.

In a Loser Leaves Town Match (or "You're Fired!" match), two wrestlers face off against each other, and the wrestler who is defeated is fired from the promotion (either directly the wrestler involved in the match or a third party they represent). The firing clause applies to both participants in the encounter.

The difference from a Retirement Match is that in a "You're Fired!" match, nothing is preventing the fired wrestler from continuing to compete in another promotion or receiving a new contract from the promotion that just fired them (for example, the opposing brand in WWE).

The name of the match comes from the typical catchphrase of Vince McMahon, the WWE boss, who is known for firing his employees by shouting "You're Fired!" directly at them during the show.

This stipulation is also referred to as the Loser Gets Fired Match or Loser Leaves… Match, where the three dots are replaced with the name of the company from which the loser will be fired or the brand they must leave (with the option to move to the other brand in this case).
