NEO Women’s Pro Wrestling was a Women pro wrestling promotion based in Yokohama, Kanagawa, Japan.
The NEO promotion was founded on November 25, 1997 by A wrestler consortium (led by Kyoko Inoue), and it ceased operations on January 16, 2011.
Neo Japan Ladies Pro Wrestling was founded in 1997 as a breakaway promotion amidst AJW’s financial struggles, leading to the departure of nine wrestlers who ended up forming a business consortium, led by Kyoko Inoue. The original version of NEO closed in January 2000 due to poor management. A restart of the promotion occurred months later (with a small financial fraud scandal happening during said time), this time focusing on small-scale venues and renaming to NEO Women's Pro Wrestling. At one point NEO was called "The most peaceful organization in the world” due to its lack of backstage drama and solid administration. During the latter half of the 2000s, NEO relied much more on freelancers, and ultimately ended up closing in 2010 with one last tour, as Inoue left the company.
