WWE 2K20 features a wide variety of Match Types, with up to 8 wrestlers in the ring at the same time. Also, with the Create A Match / Match Creator feature in WWE 2K20, players can create Custom Matches with their own set of rules.
However, there aren't many new match types in WWE 2K20 compared to last year's WWE 2K19. The only additions to the list (marked with NEW), are the Mixed Tag Team Match and the Mixed Match Challenge Tournament.
Unfortunately, we still don't see the long-requested return of the likes of Special Referee, Gauntlet Match, I Quit Match or Lumberjack Match, nor the implementation of new match types such as War Games. The Royal Rumble Match is still limited to 30 participants despite the recent 50-man edition.
It's also still not possible to do Intergender Matches. Despite the addition of Chyna to the game, Mixed Gender matches are still limited to allow interaction only between wrestlers of the same gender. If a male superstar hits a female superstar in a Mixed Tag, the match ends in an immediate DQ.
On the plus side, Weapons have now been added to Hell In A Cell (though you still can't pick up the steel steps), and the Weapon Wheel is now available in every match and it's fully customizable, with the additon of several weapons variations (see below for more details).
The new red version of the Hell In A Cell is also now available in WWE 2K20, however you cannot manually pick between the old metal style and the current red style. The color of the Hell In A Cell in WWE 2K20 will change based on the Arena where the match is played.

Edit Weapons (Custom Weapon Wheel)
In WWE 2K20, the Weapon Wheel is now available in every match and it's fully customizable. You can pick the weapons that will appear in each of the 6 slots, by choosing among five categories of weapons:
- Bats
- Kendo Sticks
- Sledgehammers
- Chairs
- Miscellaneous
Each category features several versions of the weapon, some varying in color or pattern, some being completely original weapons. Most of the new weapons can be unlocked by increasing the Prestige Ranks of your MyPLAYER.
