The WCW Light Heavyweight Championship was contested in World Championship Wrestling and National Wrestling Alliance, by men wrestlers.

The championship was first established on October 27, 1991, and the inaugural champion was Flyin' Brian.

The WCW Light Heavyweight Championship was retired on September 2, 1992, with the final champion being Brad Armstrong.

A similar championship, the WCW / WWE Cruiserweight Championship, has been later introduced, which does not share the lineage with this title.
