CM Punk returned to AEW carrying the AEW World Championship belt that he had won at the 2022 All Out, referring to himself as the "real world's champion" and then spray-painting a black X on the center plate. The "Real World Championship" was not officially recognized by AEW, but Punk defended the title on AEW programming.
