- Real Life Profile Kevin Owens
WWE's longest reigning Universal Champion, Kevin Owens, took the title that Triple H handed him and ran with it. In August of 2016, Owens defeated Big Cass, Roman Reigns, and Seth Rollins in a four-way elimination match after Triple H appeared and hit the Pedigree on Rollins. The Prizefighter then capitalized and won the WWE Universal title. Forging a friendship with Chris Jericho would ensure that Owens would hold on to the WWE Universal Championship for over 6 months while Jericho held the United States title. Kevin Owens would begin to feud with Jericho in early February of 2017, which would lead to Kevin Owens losing the Universal Title to Goldberg at Fastlane. This would result in Owens challenging Chris Jericho for the United States Championship and winning. Kevin Owens would then move to SmackDown Live during the WWE Superstar Shake-up as "The New Face of America" where he has become a three time United States Champion.
