From the time they first started using licensed music as PPV themes to about 2008 I will say is when they had chose some really good songs to hype you up for the events, but then the hard rock and nu metal faded into pop rock and hip hop unfortunately.

  What they mean by this is that the version of Sweet Home Alabama that was played at Armageddon 2000 is not by the original artist Lynyrd Skynyrd, it was a cover version. If you go back and listen to it playing in the background of the matchup screens of the PPV or during the introduction you will hear it is quite clearly not the Lynyrd Skynyrd version.
