WWE 2K25 will feature a wide variety of Match Types, with up to 8 wrestlers in the ring at the same time. On this page, you can find all the WWE 2K25 Match Types available in the game.
Also, with the Custom Matches / Match Creator feature in WWE 2K25, players can create and save their own match types with a customized set of rules.
WWE 2K25 New Match Types
After WWE 2K24 added four new match types (Special Referee, Ambulance, Casket, and Gauntlet Match), WWE 2K25 continues to expand the list of matches available in the game. The new additions this year are:
- Intergender Matches are returning in WWE 2K25 after being absent from the series for over 16 years (as they were last featured in SmackDown vs. Raw 2009). Superstars from the men’s and women’s divisions can now compete against each other to set up limitless matchups across all game modes. The game will also feature unique Intergender Championships.
- A new match type that will be added in WWE 2K25 is the Underground Match: This match involves no ropes around the ring, with unique moves and interactions with the environment, and NPCs surrounding the ring. The match can only be won by submission or KO.
- The "Bloodline Rules" Match has also been added to WWE 2K25, inspired by last year's WrestleMania: this is a no-DQ match that will allow up to six run-ins per match, three per side, and these run-ins can be performed as a Payback ability, by filling a meter and then spending the earned credit.
- The Special Guest Referee has now been extended to work in 30 different match types, rather than just 1v1 as it was in WWE 2K24.
- Plus, new Brawl environments such as the WWE Archives and NXT Parking Lot have been added to the game, and the backstage brawl matches now support up to 8 superstars.
