BattlARTS was a Indie and Shoot Style pro wrestling promotion based in Koshigaya, Saitama, Japan.
The BATTLARTS promotion was founded on April 6, 1996 by Yuki Ishikawa, and it ceased operations on November 27, 2011.
An experimental promotion founded in 1996 by Yuki Ishikawa, one which had an odd mix of junior heavyweight wrestling, traditional amateur wrestling, and shoot style. Despite the weird combination, this style actually worked and was effective in cultivating a fanbase of people who liked traditional pro wrestling, and MMA.
The promotion's prime years were from 1996 to 2001, and in its latter years from 2002 to 2010 experienced a similar slump of interest which negatively affected the rest of Japanese wrestling.
