With the release of WWE 2K25 just around the corner, the game's developers have provided some clarifications on how the cross-platform and cross-generation functionality will work for Community Creations in WWE 2K25.
Is Community Creations in WWE 2K25 Cross-Gen and Cross-Platform?
WWE 2K25 will no longer support Cross-Generation Community Creations, meaning that players on different console generations will not be able to share custom content with each other.
Players on last-gen platforms (PlayStation 4 and Xbox One) and PC will be able to share their created content exclusively among themselves. Meanwhile, those on current-gen consoles (PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S) will have their own separate ecosystem for community creations.
Unfortunately, this restriction limits cross-platform sharing, preventing full creative collaboration between users across different generations of hardware.
One of the reasons for this decision is the introduction of the new Island mode, which features numerous unlockable items for Create a Superstar only available within this mode (including branded items from Nike, Jordan, Puma, and more). Since The Island mode is designed specifically for next-gen consoles, this further justifies the need for a separate ecosystem.
According to 2K developers, the Island mode is not available on older consoles and PC due to hardware limitations, as it requires significant system resources that these platforms are unable to support.
