2K has just announced that Brock Lesnar will be the Cover Superstar for WWE 2K17, which is set to be released on October 11 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360.
The choice came as no surprise to the intimidating competitor known to the WWE Universe as The Beast Incarnate.
“My career has been defined by dominating every opportunity presented to me,” said Brock Lesnar. “I am excited for my newest opportunity representing WWE 2K17 as the franchise’s ambassador and honored to serve as the WWE 2K17 cover Superstar.”
As the new face of WWE 2K17, Lesnar joins an impressive list of Superstars who previously graced the cover of 2K’s WWE video game series, which includes the likes of The Rock, John Cena and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin. The selection also marks the first time that Lesnar will be the sole Superstar appearing on a WWE video game cover.
The announcement also confirms that Lesnar will be the newest Superstar to join the WWE 2K17 player roster. He joins the three playable characters that were unveiled by artist Rob Schamberger at E3 2016: John Cena, Sasha Banks and WWE Hall of Famer Ultimate Warrior.
Furthermore, WWE gamers who pre-order WWE 2K17 now can start conjuring up a dream rematch between Lesnar and his WrestleMania XX opponent, Goldberg. The two-time World Champion and WCW legend will be available as a pre-order bonus character in 2K’s latest addition to its venerated WWE video game series.
“Ladies and gentlemen, my client has truly conquered everything in his path, and unleashing Suplex City through WWE 2K17 will be no different,” said Paul Heyman. “As the advocate for Brock Lesnar, I can assure you his embodiment of unadulterated excellence, combined with a Beast’s desire to CONQUER all platforms in the gaming world, will make for a video game and supporting campaign that fans will embrace and absolutely cannot ignore this year.”
This is only the beginning. 2K will reveal more of the unique and compelling Suplex City in a variety of ways leading up WWE 2K17’s release this fall.
