2K has announced that its upcoming wrestling video game WWE 2K16 will have the "largest roster ever" with an excess of "120+ unique" playable characters lined up in the roster, that will be all shipping with the game.
From their Instagram account, the 2K Dev team explained that the count of 120 characters doesn't include the various alternate costumes or the wrestlers who've had a few gimmick changes, for example three different versions of Triple H would count as one.
"For anyone doubting the ”largest roster ever” tag line for WWE 2k16, let us assure you, that we are bringing over 120 unique playable Superstars and Divas to the game. Now when we say unique, we’re not counting the repeats like 5 John Cena models, or 8 Mark Henry models. As you can imagine, these models are keeping us crazy busy, but it is worth it."
So this will be a big step for the franchise as a whole, since the last 2K WWE game had 67 unique models. As of now, Paige, Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, Bad News Barrett, Daniel Bryan and Finn Balor are the only wrestlers confirmed in the roster so far. More names will be announced in th upcoming weeks.
