In possibly one of the strangest crossovers in recent memory, WWE and Wargaming are teaming up to release some new World of Tanks content on consoles. A set of new tanks will be coming to World of Tanks that will be themed around wrestling superstars and legends from the WWE's current and the first set of these tanks will launch with the first season of World of Tanks on console which will have the appropriate name of Summerslam.
Wargaming and WWE announced their crossover on the World of Tanks Console website on July 21st, 2020 and when the game gets its 5.0 Update from then and until September 21st, World of Tanks Console will be getting a host of WWE themed tanks and crews which will also feature WWE legends and superstars to celebrate and kick-off World of Tanks Season 1: Summerslam. The set will start off with the release of 5 collectible legendary tanks which will feature the likes of the Undertaker, Becky Lynch, Andre the Giant, Sgt Slaughter, and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin with the last one being available to all players for free from the start.
In addition to the current set of superstar and legend themed tanks and crew, August will add in more crews and tanks for further stars which include the "Nature Boy" Ric Flair, Roman Reigns, "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, "Macho Man" Randy Savage and Shawn Michaels. There will also Summerslam themed garages which will feature the squared circle.
This update will not only add the WWE themed content but will also introduce cross-platform play which allows players the chance to play with other people on different consoles such as the PS4 and Xbox One and finally the update will add a new way for people to play with the new real-time strategy Commander Mode being added in this update.
