While many people are looking forward to the upcoming WWE 2K22 and more so for the AEW Console Game.
But there is another game that does look very promising and that game is The Wrestling Code being developed by Virtual Basement.
So far the game in terms of the in-game graphics and roster really has fans excited for a new wrestling game.
Over the last week, Virtual Basement has released some new footage showing over more of the development for the game.
Over Twitter, they have also hinted 2 new superstars are joining the roster as well as showed over some of the new models planned for the game.
The last time we got one of these updates, this was of WWE Hall of Famer Rob Van Dam recording mocap for the game by performing his Coast to Coast finisher.
So in this article, we will be going over all of the new details shown off over last week.
The Wrestling Code Behind The Scenes
So far this year Virtual Basement has been recording mocap for the game and since they have been able to set up their own wrestling ring at their home.
With this new setup, Virtual Basement is now able to invite superstars to this home setup, which means they don't need to travel all over to record superstar's mocap.
The first star to test this new setup is independent star Ruckus who becomes the latest star signed up for the game.
In the video, he is seen performing motion capture for his corkscrew moonsault off of the apron.
The team would then fly over to Pittsburgh where they met up with WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle.
Kurt along with another independent star known as Tony Chini, Kurt would be there to record footage of his Ankle Lock finisher for the game.
An interesting thing to note is the way the footage is recorded, as first Tony taps out to the Ankle Lock, then he grabs the ropes to force a break, and finally, Kurt fully locks in the move, and Tony taps again.
This way of recording the footage is quite useful as it allows the development team to cut up the footage into 3 separate in-game animations.
Following that session, the team went straight into recording more footage, this time with independent star Facade, as he performing what looks like part of his in-game entrance.
As for what is over the horizon, Virtual Basement would reveal that they were going to Philadelphia to film in the old ECW Arena.
Currently, we don't know what exactly they will be recording there but since they are a lot of former ECW stars planned for the game, the team could be going to get a better look and maybe recreate the arena in-game.
The Wrestling Code New Roster and In-Game Model Reveals
One thing that fans have been excited about was last November when The Wrestling Code's Twitter Account sent out a tweet saying "The Wrestling Code will soon Feel The Bang!".
Even those from this tweet people believed that Diamond Dallas Page was going to be in the game, there was no official confirmation from Page or Virtual Basement.
However this week DDP appeared on the Mr. Wright Way Youtube Channel to talk about the old WCW Playstation 1 Games.
He would then move on to his involvement in The Wrestling Code, where he would confirm that he was going to be in the game.
After this DDP would show off not only his in-game model but also the model of Big Poppa Pump Scott Steiner.
DDP now becomes the latest big-name star to sign to the project joining others like RVD and Kurt Angle.
Steiner's model was previously seen briefly during Muhammad Hassen's promo video however this is the first time the model has been shown to the public.
DDP would also tease the inclusion of another former WCW Superstar that being Vampiro who has currently not been announced for the game, so he may be joining DDP in The Wrestling Code.
