The WWE Tag Team Championship is contested in World Wrestling Entertainment on the SmackDown brand, by men wrestlers.
The championship was first established on August 23, 2016, and the inaugural champion was Heath Slater & Rhyno.
Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan created tandem titles for SmackDown following the 2016 Brand Extension Draft. The first champions were crowned at WWE Backlash on Sept. 11, 2016, following an intense, eight-team tournament.
The current champion is the team of The Bloodline (Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa and Jacob Fatu), who won the title on the episode of SmackDown on August 2, 2024, and has been reigning for 49 days (Tama & Fatu originally won the titles, but Bloodline leader Solo Sikoa had Fatu relinquish his half of the title to fellow group member Loa on SmackDown 08/23 so that Fatu could be Sikoa's personal enforcer.).
